CEHD Receives Second I3 Grant Of $12M
-Thanks to a $12 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, faculty scholars in the College of Education and Human Development will begin a five-year study focused on best practices in literacy-infused science for English language learners and economically challenged middle school students in rural, suburban, and urban school districts across Texas.

Dr. Alfred To Be Inducted Into IACE Hall Of Fame
-Dr. Mary Alfred will be inducted into the International Adult & Continuing Education (IACE) Hall of Fame for her scholarship and leadership in the profession. Dr. Alfred will be one of 13 leaders from around the world inducted at the ceremony on Tuesday, November 15 in Orlando.

Dr. Nafukho Awarded Fellowship For Carnegie Program
-EAHR Professor and Department Head Dr. Fred Nafukho was awarded a fellowship by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program. In Fall 2017, Dr. Nafukho will work at Kenya’s Kenyatta University in the newly established Innovation, Research, and Outreach Unit.
