For the 2020-2021 school year, the Texas Education Agency reported there were nearly 10,000 Aggies working in Texas schools across 668 districts and 184 counties. Thanks to our excellence in teacher preparation, these Aggies will stay in the classrooms long after their peers.

Dr. Frederick Nafukho

Dr. Frederick Nafukho

Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs

Dr. Fredrick Muyia Nafukho is a Professor of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development and Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, College of Education and Human Development. Dr. Nafukho earned his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from Louisiana State University, M.Ed in Economics of Education and B.Ed in Business Studies and Economics from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He attended Harvard’s Management Development Program (MDP) offered by Harvard Institutes for Higher Education. Dr. Nafukho has received numerous awards in recognition of his scholarship including: the Fulbright Scholarship in 1996, Distinguished International Scholar Award, Louisiana State University in 1997, Arkansas Business Teacher Educator of the Year Award in 2004, Cutting Edge Award for the Outstanding Papers, Academy of Human Resource Development (with his student Dr. Carroll C. Graham) in 2005, Outstanding New Faculty Award, CEHD at Texas A&M University in 2008, and the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship in 2016. Dr. Nafukho’s research focuses on educational policy analysis within international and comparative education, investment in human capital development, emotional intelligence and leadership development, organizational development and change, evaluation in organizations, transfer of learning, organizational learning and e-learning. He is author/editor of Handbook of Research on Innovative Technology Integration in Higher Education (2015, IGI Global), Governance and Transformation of Universities in Africa (2014, IAP), Foundations of Adult Education in Africa (2005, Pearson Education & UNESCO), and Management of Adult Education Organizations in Africa (2011, Pearson Education & UNESCO), Informal Public Transport in Practice: Matatu Entrepreneurship (Ashgate, 2016) . In addition, he has authored/edited numerous books, book chapters, and refereed journal articles. He has served as a consultant with the UNDP, WHO and UNESCO and as a lead consultant for 15 Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries on a Four Sector Open and Distance Learning (ODEL) Research Project. Dr. Nafukho has received numerous grant funding to support his research and graduate students.
