Steve Furney graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree before going on to complete his master’s in education at the University of Houston, master’s in public health from the University of Texas and his doctorate from the University of Tennessee. Steve has been a faculty member at Texas State University since 1980 and has received close to $2 million in grant funding. Steve is very active in the New Braunfels community, serving on city committees, church councils and boards of other organizations including the American Heart Association. His passion is in health education, public/community health and health and wellness promotion.
