This fall, the College of Education and Human Development will begin a year-long celebration of 50 years of excellence.

Throughout our history we have been charged with transforming and enriching lives through education and health. Created as a school for teachers, we are now a school for leaders.

We offer 21 undergraduate programs and more than 30 graduate programs across multiple emphasis areas.

Educators, sports professionals, business leaders, healthcare professionals. Whatever the industry, our graduates are game-changers. Our graduates transform lives.

HLKN is the largest academic department at Texas A&M University and generates over 98,000 credit hours and 203,000 (Modified) weighted student credit hours each year.

Quick Admit Programs

Quick Admit to Graduate School


In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we are offering current Aggies an expedited application process for many of our graduate programs. This Quick Admissions process is open to spring and summer graduates who want to continue their studies through our college.

Departments participating in the CEHD Quick Admit Program:

  • Educational Administration and Human Resource Development
  • Educational Psychology
  • Health and Kinesiology
  • Teaching, Learning and Culture

Benefits of Quick Admissions


  1. No application fees – Standard application fees are temporarily being waived.
  2. No GRE scores required – Standard requirements for GRE scores are temporarily being waived.
  3. Short application with fast review – Application process temporarily streamlined with a brief online form.

Students who:

  • Wish to pursue a master’s degree in the same department from which they are graduating will undergo an expedited review if they have a 3.25 GPA or higher.
  • Have a 3.0 GPA or higher will undergo an expedited review based on their undergraduate transcript in Howdy.

Students may apply to graduate programs in majors other than their undergraduate major.

Application Process


  • Complete the brief online data sheet application which includes a place to upload your transcript and resume/CV.
  • No GRE, letters of recommendation, or application fees required for current TAMU students applying for Quick Admission. Open to current undergraduate and graduate students of Texas A&M University for summer/fall 2020 and spring 2021 admission only.

Application Deadlines: Department of Educational Psychology


  • Applications for summer 2020 enrollment into master’s (M.Ed.) programs due by 11:59 pm on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
  • Applications for fall 2020 enrollment in the master’s Bilingual Education program due by 11:59 pm on Monday, July 1, 2020.
  • Applications for fall 2020 enrollment in the master’s Creativity and Cognition, Research, Management and Statistics, and Developmental Sciences programs due by 11:59 pm on Monday, July 20, 2020.

Application Deadlines: Department of Health and Kinesiology


  • Summer 2020: May 15, 2020 – This is only for the Sport Management distance program, and Health Education face-to-face.
  • Fall 2020 (all programs): June 15, 2020
  • Spring 2021 (all programs): Nov 1, 2020

Application Deadlines: Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development


We will be accepting applications through most of summer and reviews will take place on a rolling basis.

  • Fall 2020 (Masters and Ph.D programs): due by 11:59 pm on June 15, 2020
  • Spring 2021 (Masters programs only): due by 11:59 pm on October 1, 2020

Educational Administration and Human Resource Development Quick Admit Programs


An updated resume will need to be uploaded with your application. There is not a requirement for letters of recommendation. You will be asked to select an HRD faculty member who can serve as that reference.

Educational Psychology Quick Admit Programs


The Bilingual Education program will be accepting Quick Admissions Applications through July 1, 2020.

The Creativity and Cognition, Research, Measurement & Statistics, and Developmental Sciences programs will be accepting Quick Admissions Applications through July 20, 2020.

Health and Kinesiology Quick Admit Programs


Please be prepared to choose a preferred major and a starting semester.

Note: those seeking admission to Sport Management may choose a distance education or face-to-face option; the face-to-face will only be accepting for Fall 2020 start, whereas distance can start Summer, Fall, or Spring.
