As a third generation Aggie, Sue Ellen received her teacher certification and Master’s degree from A&M after having first received her BA from Baylor where she served as a Golden Girl Twirler. The Franklin, Texas native is married to local attorney Fred Davis, ’71. Together they have two children, Thomas Webb Davis and Nancy Diana Miller ’07, one son-in-law and a granddaughter. Sue Ellen has taught at both the secondary and post-secondary levels. She recently retired as a lecturer at Texas A&M’s English Language Institute enabling international students to learn English composition, vocabulary, and American customs and culture. She has been active in many professional, civic, and church organizations holding membership in TESOL in higher education. Other volunteer efforts include VIPS Coordinator, PTSO President, and HOSTS at Bryan ISD; President of the Junior League of Bryan-College Station; The Woman’s Club of Bryan; building homes in B-CS and Guatemala for Habitat for Humanity; sponsoring fund raisers that benefit Save Our Streets, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Girls Scouts; and membership and committee work at Alexander United Methodist Church.
