Patsy Kirksey

College Station, Texas

A 1962 graduate of Southwest Texas State University Patsy taught English at Lockhart High School for 34 years. Her late husband, Pat ‘56, traveled the world as a petroleum geologist after serving as an officer in the Air Force. In 1966, Pat joined the family business, Kirksey Propane Service in Lockhart where he and Patsy lived since 1968. Pat served as councilman and mayor in the 1970’s and he and Patsy became involved in the community and the Methodist Church. Education was a driving force with the Kirksey’s through their participation in Community Education, public school teaching, HeadStart, and Job training. Texas A&M affiliations included the Chancellor’s Century Council, Associations for the Band, Corps of Cadets, Former Students, 12th Man Ambassadors Committee, Champions’ Council, and Legacy Society. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and world. Patsy is proud of their daughters and sons-in- law, Anna and Patrick Squire and Margo and Chris Dailey – all Aggies! As a grandparent, her greatest joys are Ryan, Jack, Sophia and dear memories of Spencer.
