Andrea “Sissy” McKenna ’79 has a degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Specialties in Early Childhood and Reading from Texas A&M. She also has certification in Library Science from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. Sissy has been a classroom teacher, a site coordinator for 21st Century Learning Centers for Galveston ISD and was a teacher, grant writer and administrator for Holy Family Catholic School in Galveston. She and her husband, John ’78, had three children, Andi, Lauren and John. Lauren is married to Caleb Wells ’08, and they have two children. John lives in Galveston with the three grand-dogs. Andi died in a car accident the summer before her senior year at Texas A&M. The McKenna’s established a memorial scholarship for Special Education majors in her name and her Aggie ring is displayed at the Association of Former Students.
