Barbara J. Huffman was born in Nederland, Texas and earned a BS in Education from East Texas Baptist College. She taught elementary school for several years prior to her marriage to Bill Huffman ‘53. She has been a “stay at home mom”, worked in Bill’s law office for many years, served as president of the Lady Lions several times and earned a private pilot’s license. She is also very active with the East Texas Baptist Alumni Association, served as coordinator of the volunteer center, and has received numerous awards for her sacrificial service.

Today, the Huffmans reside in College Station where their daughter, Gay Lynn Huffman ‘92 works in property management. Their son, William M. Huffman, Jr.’88, is a Lieutenant in the Marshall Police Department.

The Huffmans are members of the Texas A&M Foundation Legacy Society and Heritage Society, were selected Honorary Maroon Coats in 2017, and each now serves as a director on the Brazos County A&M Club Board of Directors. Barbara began serving on the Advancement Board of Texas A&M University Press in the Fall of 2019.
