Betsy received her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M in 1972 and her master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Texas. She has over 30 years of teaching experience and works as an education consultant with BC Enterprises. She was co-author of the Gifted and Talented Evaluation Scales (GATES), which is used in schools throughout Texas, and she was the founding Director of LCRA’s McKinney Roughs Environmental Learning Center. Bob earned his undergraduate (1970), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and post- doctorate specialty degree at Texas A&M. He is president and CEO of Texas EnteroSorbents, Inc., a published writer and has been granted more than 200 patents. They enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Betsy and Bob have two children, Robert O. Carpenter, M.D. ’91 and Erin Carpenter Westerholm, D.O. ’93 and five precious grandchildren.
