We offer 21 undergraduate programs and more than 30 graduate programs across multiple emphasis areas.

We Teach Texas

We are proud to be one of 11 universities in the Texas A&M University System preparing educators for Texas school systems.

For the 2019-2020 school year, the Texas Education Agency reported there were more than 10,000 Aggies working in Texas schools across 738 districts and 213 counties. Thanks to our excellence in teacher preparation, these Aggies will stay in the classrooms long after their peers.

HLKN is the largest academic department at Texas A&M University and generates over 98,000 credit hours and 203,000 (Modified) weighted student credit hours each year.

Deborah and James Robertson

Kyle, Texas

Both Deborah and James are graduates of Texas A&M. Deborah spent her 30-year career in education, teaching English, Theater Arts, and Speech/Drama and special education. After receiving a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction with a professional endorsement as an Educational Diagnostician, she did testing and case management for students with disabilities. James was on the rugby team as an undergrad at Texas A&M prior to getting his degree in Wildlife Science & Fisheries. The majority of his career was spent as a Texas Game Warden, including a stint as an instructor at the training academy in College Station. He ultimately became the Director of Law Enforcement and received many accolades, include the Safari Club International 2000 Conservation Officer of the Year. Deborah and James have been active in numerous church activities as well as the Hays Youth Sports Organization and Hays Athletic Booster Club. Retirement enables them to spend more time with their three children and seven grandchildren.
