Both Deborah and James are graduates of Texas A&M. Deborah spent her 30-year career in education, teaching English, Theater Arts, and Speech/Drama and special education. After receiving a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction with a professional endorsement as an Educational Diagnostician, she did testing and case management for students with disabilities. James was on the rugby team as an undergrad at Texas A&M prior to getting his degree in Wildlife Science & Fisheries. The majority of his career was spent as a Texas Game Warden, including a stint as an instructor at the training academy in College Station. He ultimately became the Director of Law Enforcement and received many accolades, include the Safari Club International 2000 Conservation Officer of the Year. Deborah and James have been active in numerous church activities as well as the Hays Youth Sports Organization and Hays Athletic Booster Club. Retirement enables them to spend more time with their three children and seven grandchildren.
