Aggie Teacher Recognized for Leadership in the Classroom
Former student Caitlin Baumgarten ’16 has earned two awards for her commitment to education and leadership. The eighth-grade history and social studies teacher in College Station ISD received the Julius Glickman Educational Leadership Award from Humanities Texas and the Mary Jon and J.P. Bryan Leadership in Education Award from the Texas State Historical Association.
Baumgarten was recognized for her leadership and outstanding contributions to teaching, curriculum development and extracurricular programming. “This recognition represents the culmination of my journey towards achieving the goals I had set for myself, inspired by the transformative power of education and the humanities,” she said. Aside from creating an engaging classroom environment and bringing history to life for her students, Baumgarten is dedicated to helping other social studies teachers reach their students in new, exciting ways through her co-founded podcast, the History Teachers Club.
