About the Excellence in Education Award
Purpose
The GNP Excellence in Action Award was established to recognize school district leaders who have positively impacted educator preparation policy and/or practice.
The Award
The award recipient will receive a commemorative plaque and five free registrations for district teachers or staff to the We Teach Texas P12 Mentoring and Coaching Academy at Texas A&M University. The recipient will also have their photo posted on the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) website along with comments from the nominator.
To nominate someone for this award, the nominator must be employed by CEHD within one of the educator preparation programs.
Eligibility
Individual nominees must currently hold a leadership position (teacher team leader, instructional coach, principal, superintendent, human resources leader, etc.) within a Texas school district or at a Texas charter school. The nominee must have held the leadership position(s) for at least three years.
Evaluation Criteria
- Provides guidance and feedback to promote excellence and growth in education.
- Promotes a positive culture for ALL learners.
- Demonstrates willingness to share expertise, knowledge, and commitment to support teacher education and the CEHD educator preparation programs.
