CEHD Fund Propels Research Initiatives for Faculty
Our College is supporting faculty research while fostering collaborations across Texas A&M University and beyond through its Catalyst Fund. The funding is offered through our Research Enterprise and Outreach office and provides support for CEHD faculty to launch various initiatives such as research interest groups, centers, institutes and conferences.
Faculty members can use the funds over a year to support costs including forums, meetings, retreats and symposia to collaborate and build partnerships with researchers across disciplines. Faculty must also prove their endeavor can remain sustainable beyond the Catalyst funding period.
Two of our faculty are using the Catalyst Fund to support their research endeavors. Dr. John Lawler looks to use the funding to help create an institute that can improve research and treatments for muscle, bone and nerve disorders, which affect 149 million people in the United States. Dr. Seung Won Yoon will use his Catalyst funds to establish a center that focuses on using data analytics and artificial intelligence in a fair, sustainable and understandable way to advance developments in education and the workforce.
The Catalyst Fund is one of several ways our College aims to support and enhance the success and impact of our faculty’s research—from idea to award.
