Dr. Joshi Selected As 2017 AERA Fellow

Dr. R. Malatesha Joshi, professor of reading education in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture is among 14 scholars named 2017 AERA Fellows. The American Educational Research Association (AERA) selected these Fellows on the basis of their notable and sustained research achievements.

“I am hopeful that my recognition will give more visibility and recognition to TLAC and the College as departments and the College are generally measured with recognitions like this. It is, perhaps, the highest honor bestowed by distinguished researchers about my research and contributions to educational research,” said Dr. Joshi.

The 2017 Fellows, listed below, were nominated by their peers, selected by the AERA Fellows Committee, and approved by the AERA Council, the association’s elected governing body. They will be inducted on Friday, April 28, during the AERA 2017 Annual Meeting in San Antonio. They join 630 current AERA Fellows.

“We are delighted to honor these 14 scholars for their contributions to education research and for their dedication to the field,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “AERA Fellows exemplify the highest standards of excellence through accomplishment, professionalism, and commitment. We welcome the class of 2017 to these ranks.”
