-The College of Education and Human Development is marking the completion of its latest facility with a grand opening celebration Tuesday, April 11, at 1 p.m. The state-of-the-art Human Clinical Research Facility, located on John Kimbrough Boulevard, will be a university-wide resource for collaboration on health and wellness research.

CEHD Dedicates Funds For New Research Collaborations
-The College of Education and Human Development has dedicated $270,000 to fund a third round of Catapult Grants used to enhance quality of life for populations across Texas. The nine grants feature collaborations between each department in the college as well as other colleges across Texas A&M University.

-Dr. Cheryl Craig, professor of teacher education and the Houston Endowment, Inc.’s Endowed Chair of Urban Education, is the latest inductee into her alma mater’s Wall of Fame. The Brandon University Alumni Association (BUAA) presented the award to Dr. Craig during the university’s Homecoming celebration in October.

$5.5M In Grants Focused On Improving Education For English Language Learners
-The U.S. Department of Education recently awarded faculty from the Bilingual Program in the Department of Educational Psychology and the Educational Administration Program in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development two five-year grants totaling $5.5 million. The grants will fund teacher professional development for educators working with English language learners (ELLs) and to research its effects.
