Dr. Batista Appointed As New Faculty Athletic Representative
-Longstanding Sport Management faculty member Dr. Paul Batista was appointed by the Office of the President as the new Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) for Texas A&M University. Beginning September 1, Dr. Batista will be providing important counsel for the Texas A&M athletic program as required by NCAA guidelines.

-Texas A&M University’s College of Education and Human Development has reached a new three-year partnership with Spring Independent School District to address a national challenge – preparing teachers to transition into and thrive within urban schools.

Center On Disability And Development Awarded Two Grants Under The Autism Grant Program
-The Center on Disability and Development (CDD) was recently awarded two grants from the Division of Academic Quality and Workforce to fund research projects involving students with autism spectrum disorders. Special education professor Dr. Jennifer Ganz serves as the director for both projects.

TCALL Receives Grant To Further Adult Literacy
-The Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy & Learning (TCALL) received a two-year grant in July from the Texas Workforce Commission totaling over $4.7 million. The grant will fund a project called TRAIN PD @ TCALL — a project that provides research-based professional development, resources, and networking for adult education and literacy (AEL) programs throughout the state of Texas.
