Liew receives 2021 Chancellor’s EDGES Fellowship

Dr. Jeffrey Liew, professor and associate dean of research, is among thirteen distinguished faculty members at Texas A&M to be honored as 2021 Chancellor’s Enhancing Development and Generating Excellence in Scholarship (EDGES) Fellows.

“This award and recognition honors mid-career faculty who are making significant marks in their discipline,” said Interim Dean Dr. Michael de Miranda. “The EDGES Fellowship awarded to Dr. Liew serves as an index of his research and scholarly trajectory consistent with national and international acclaim and careers that are on-track for membership in national academies or national and international awards.”

Chancellor John Sharp launched the EDGES Fellowship in 2019 to honor, incentivize and boost mid-career faculty at the associate or early full professor ranks who are making significant marks in their disciplines.

The recognition — which comes with more than $7.7 million in funding — highlights The Texas A&M System’s focus on supporting, retaining and recognizing faculty with significant and sustained accomplishments and the promise of continued high-impact scholarship.

“We are very excited and proud that Dr. Liew’s scholarly work is recognized and supported by the TAMU System to continue making a significant impact in the field of learning and developmental sciences,” said Dr. Fuhui Tong, head of the Department of Educational Psychology. “This award will further enhance Dr. Liew’s career in earning the highest level of acclaim nationally and internationally.”
