Council History
On February 23, 1982, 25 individuals were selected from among 200 as the charter members of the Dean’s Development Council.
Charter members included a former state commissioner of education, business executives, school administrators, and NASA astronaut and Challenger Commander Francis “Dick” Scobee.
Objectives
- To provide support for the college by informing external stakeholders, including government and private sector leaders, on the nature and impact of college initiatives and provide feedback to the dean on these outreach efforts.
- To assist in attracting financial resources to support students, faculty and program development activities and to enhance facilities within the college.
